Starting my VistA and CPRS Installation today

Well, I think I have cobbled together enough resources to get my VistA server and CPRS to potentially work.  I've put together a PC that is currently not connected to any networks or anything - and it's running Windows 7.  I've found some instructions at hardhats.org that I hope will get me through this.

I downloaded SOME of the VistA files from the VA FTP site already and realized that they all come in CACHE.DAT files. This is apparently some sort of outdated install mechanism and I need some special program in order to install it (see the hardhat instructions for more).  So I'm currently downloading all of that onto a USB stick which I will then load onto my server.

Stay tuned...
