Shopping at WinCo is like attending the theater

I talk to some people who won't shop at WinCo - apparently it's too low-brow for them or something.  But man the prices there are amazing.  Plus - if you go with the right attitude - it can be one of the most fun shopping outings you've ever had.

Much like "slug bug" or "popeye" there are some fun counting games you can play at WinCo. For example - how many people are in pajamas or slippers?  You can guess a number before you go in - and then whoever is the closest gets a handful of those amazing Chocolate Covered Cinnamon Bears in the bulk section.  Seriously - those things are like a drug.

If you use a pedometer, you can go shopping at 5am or 6am and get a ton of extra steps in - there are so many people filling the aisles with so many pallets of groceries to stock the shelves it take about 50% longer, but think of the calories!

How many languages did you hear spoken?  Which items have the awesome 'green tag' of amazing savings!  What item is so ridiculously cheap you bought it even though you haven't bought it in years! (I love string beans. 40 cents per can is an amazing price for string beans.  Who knew that I was the only one in my family who liked string beans.  Do you know how long it takes to eat $3 worth of string beans when they are 40 cents per can?)

Anyway - you can go to Albertson's, and shop with a bunch of other people who look just like you, and buy a bunch of stuff and have it bagged for you - all in one fancy Albertson's brown grocery bag, and pay $50 for it.  Or you can go to WinCo - and enjoy the entire melting pot that is the northwest - bag your groceries yourself, and have that same $50 fill 3 or 4 bags, sometimes with change left over for some more Cinnamon Bears...
