I don't even really know anything about Hal Higdon other than he once built a bunch of training regimens for Marathons and the like. I've been using one of his for a while, and I built a spreadsheet to track all my runs. It's been really fun. I tag each run as "green" - meaning I ran at least as far as I was supposed to - "yellow" for not quite as far as I was supposed to - and "red" for missing a run altogether.
Add to this the fact that Nike+Running and my Nike+FuelBand ke it necessary for me to keep running to earn achievements, badges, etc. I guess this has become my new addiction.
I gave up so many addictions last year - I guess I needed a new one. And this one really isn't that bad - I hope. we'll see, after I run the Portland Marathon on October 6th.
